About the Project

This personal project is a result of my curiosity and passion for simple and seamless fintech solutions. I did it to improve my skills in mobile UI design and to propose a new way to split and share group payments.

Design Challenge

ZooMall wanted to move beyond being just a pet shop and build long-term customer loyalty through digital engagement.
The existing app lacked usability and visual clarity, and customers had no way to manage services, earn rewards, or track their pets’ needs in one place.

My role & approach

I did the UX and UI design of the new app, building upon the company’s existing brand identity while restructuring the entire experience. Working closely with the development team, I created a custom design system based on Material Design 3, adapted for Cyrillic typography and the needs of both iOS and Android implementation.

Transformation to pet care hub

Instead of a simple shopping companion, the new app became a central hub for pet care, pet profiles, combining loyalty points and service booking into one cohesive user journey.
The experience is fully designed in Cyrillic to support the target market without sacrificing readability, hierarchy, or visual consistency.

Outcomes

  • A unified interface where users can earn goody points, book grooming services, and receive product alerts.

  • Design system built for scalable development, reducing UI inconsistencies and developer overhead.

  • Improved information architecture: users can now manage pets, services and reminders.

  • Visual and interaction foundations ready for future feature expansion, with clear hand-off documentation for engineering.

  • Transition to a fully digital rewards system, reducing reliance on plastic membership cards and supporting sustainability initiatives.

Key takeaway

Designing for loyalty isn’t just about points, it’s about creating meaningful, repeatable reasons to return.
By aligning reward mechanics, services, and personalization inside one user-friendly interface, ZooMall now has a platform that supports both customer retention and business growth.
